SWORN in last month, Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidajat only has four more months before he leaves office and hands over the post to governor-elect Anies Baswedan. Djarot is Jakarta's third governor in the 2012-2017 period: the first governor Joko Widodo was elected President in 2014, and his successor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama resigned following his religious blasphemy conviction in early May.

Infrastructure for All

In contrast with his usually modest demeanor, President Joko Widodo touted the success of his administration in building infrastructure projects. While officially launching the Mandalika Special Economic Zone for Tourism in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on October 20, he said that the project was able to go forward thanks to a breakthrough of his doing. "Mandalika has been incomplete for 29 years due to the matter of securing the needed land," said Jokowi.
