Indonesian Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati: Debt Will Spur Economic Growth

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati found the recent clamor over government debts soaring during President Joko Widodo's period disturbing. After attending a limited meeting at the presidential offices on Tuesday last week, the Minister and her entourage stopped by the Tempo office. She clarified matters on the increase in government debts. "Debts are being used for investment purposes, education, health, infrastructure and institutional improvements," she said.
