Inspector-General Setyo Wasisto, Chief of National Police Public Relations: we need further regulations

The import of weapons by the National Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) have indications of irregularities and suspected procedural violations. The lethal combat weapons brought in from Arsenal, Bulgaria, were not authorized by the Minister of Defense. Their procurement transpired rapidly, right after a contract was finalized. Some other procedural violations also occurred.

Infrastructure for All

In contrast with his usually modest demeanor, President Joko Widodo touted the success of his administration in building infrastructure projects. While officially launching the Mandalika Special Economic Zone for Tourism in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on October 20, he said that the project was able to go forward thanks to a breakthrough of his doing. "Mandalika has been incomplete for 29 years due to the matter of securing the needed land," said Jokowi.
