Bahagia Ginting turned off his motorbike and stepped down with a big smile on his tanned face. His scooter was covered in mud as he had to traverse a muddy narrow trail from his farm to Meukat Komuditi Gayo, a coffee cooperative in Takengon, Central Aceh.

The coffee farmer joined the cooperative after he and his family had to leave his village on the slope of Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra after the volcano erupted in 2011. He brought his family to Kalla Wih Ilang, Takengon, and tried his hand at coffee farming. "We are blessed. We now live a better life as coffee farmers."
