Indonesia earns an investment-grade rating, but investors still demand high yields.

THE end-of-July 2025 credit rating report from S&P Global Ratings was cause for celebration at Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The United States-based rating agency reaffirmed Indonesia’s long-term credit rating at BBB and short-term rating at A-2, both with a stable outlook. In short, S&P Global still considers Indonesia ‘investment grade.’
