Bribery Codes for Customs Officers

Customs officers allegedly received billions of rupiah in bribes to clear counterfeit goods owned by Blueray Cargo. The money allegedly flowed to higher-ranking officials.

 A SEARCH of an apartment complex in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, became the key to the bribery case involving Blueray Cargo and officials at the Directorate General of Customs. Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found several envelopes stuffed with bundles of cash in three apartment units.

Some envelopes were brown, others white. At the corner of each envelope were codes consisting of letters and numbers.
