PRESIDENT Prabowo Subianto’s decision to join the Board of Peace created a new burden for the state treasury. Under Chapter II of the charter of the organization established by United States President Donald Trump, each country is granted a three-year membership term. This limitation does not apply to countries willing to contribute more than US$1 billion—around Rp16.8 trillion at an exchange rate of Rp 16,800 per US dollar.
