THIS September marked the 18th anniversary of the murder of human rights activist Munir Said Thalid. The coordinator at the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence died from arsenic poisoning on Garuda flight GA-947 flying from Jakarta to Amsterdam on September 7, 2004.

Garuda Indonesia and State Intelligence Agency (BIN) officials were charged and convicted of the murder. Garuda pilot Pollycarpus Budihari Priyanto was found guilt
