JOURNALISM is nothing new to Komaruddin Hidayat. During his college years, the Chair of Press Council once worked as a journalist for Panji Masyarakat, a progressive magazine founded by the prominent Muhammadiyah figure Buya Hamka. As a young reporter, Komaruddin attended an international journalism conference in Pyongyang, North Korea, in the early 1980s.
