THE Attorney-General’s Office (AGO) has drawn public attention for investigating several corruption cases worth trillions of rupiah. Time and again, prosecutors have displayed a kind of legal populism in its handling of these high-profile graft cases, trumpeting massive state losses and naming high-profile individuals early in the process.
