SINCE 2015, Hasto Kristiyanto has been the second-most powerful figure in the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P). Party General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri has appointed him three times as secretary-general. In mid-August 2025, after walking out of prison, Hasto returned to his post.
