Another Laptop Project Outside Nadiem’s Chromebook Case

The government launched two multi-trillion-rupiah laptop procurement projects at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Luhut Pandjaitan had a role in one of them.

TO address the limitations of in-person learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indonesian government initiated two large-scale laptop procurement programs worth tens of trillions of rupiah. The first was carried out by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, which procured Chromebook laptops running Google’s Chrome Operating System (ChromeOS).

The second project was known as the Red-and-White laptop program.
