Haj Director-General Hilman Latief: We Refrain From Talking About the Haj Quota

The Ministry of Religious Affairs hands over the investigation of haj quota corruption to the KPK. It claims to be improving the implementation of the pilgrimage.

SEVERAL officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs have complied with summonses from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the haj quota corruption case. Among them were Minister of Religious Affairs from 2020 to 2024, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and his special staff at the time, Ishfah Abid Aziz, also known as Gus Alex. But the KPK has yet to name any suspects, even though the case has already moved to the investigation stage.
