Chaos Over the Confiscation of Plantations in Forest Areas

President Prabowo Subianto asked the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force to take over 5 million hectares of forest land in 2026. Last year’s enforcement still ran into problems.

THE request came from Muhammad Yusuf Ateh to Febrie Adriansyah, the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office (AGO). After listening to a presentation by the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH), the Chief of the Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) asked that the names of companies owning illegal oil palm plantations and mines inside forest areas be disclosed publicly.
