Forest Area Enforcement Task Force: President Sets Rp10 Trillion Fine Target

The PKH Task Force is targeting 4 million to 5 million hectares of corporate land encroaching on forest areas this year, with fines projected to reach Rp 50 trillion.

THE Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) marked its first anniversary on January 21, 2026. Over the past year, the task force has claimed to have seized 4.09 million hectares of land and collected Rp4.763 trillion in fines. The amount was collected from 83 corporations. Meanwhile, data from the Forestry Ministry in 2024 showed that fines potentially recoverable from companies encroaching on forest areas could reach Rp50 trillion.
