AT the end of the first week of February 2026, I found myself puzzled by two economic headlines. The first came from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), which announced that the Indonesian economy grew 5.11 percent throughout 2025. The second came from Moody’s, the credit rating agency, which downgraded Indonesia’s outlook from stable to negative.
