FOR now, the global trade war is on pause. The United States and China have agreed to a 90-day truce. As part of the détente, Washington is lowering additional tariffs on Chinese imports from a punishing 145 percent to 30 percent. In return, Beijing is reducing duties on American goods from 125 percent to 10 percent.
