INDONESIA’s trade surplus is at serious risk of decline. One of the key triggers is the recent agreement between President Prabowo Subianto and United States President Donald Trump. In exchange for reducing a looming 32 percent reciprocal import tariff to 19 percent, Prabowo has agreed to open Indonesia’s domestic market wide to US imports.
