A Nationwide Terrorist Network

THE police are continuing their hunt of terrorist suspects in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. Around 30 suspects have been arrested. They come from different regions and backgrounds, ranging from civil servants, ex-policemen, traders, to common thugs. Some local Acehnese have also joined the military training at Jalin Valley, in Greater Aceh district.

A Time to Heal

JOKO Widodo came up with the idea of a national reconciliation just as the July 9 presidential polls came to a close at 1pm. A presidential candidate nominated by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P),Widodo—better known as Jokowi—first mentioned it to Andi Widjajanto, the party's campaign team secretary and Anies Baswedan, rector of Paramadina University, currently on leave to advise Jokowi during the campaign.

Heading to the home of Megawati Soekarnoputri, chairperson of PDI-P in South Jakarta, Jokowi said that he had a list of people he needed to meet, as part of an effort to reduce the tension among a nation torn into two camps.
