The main character of the adventure comic books was born to a family of Gaulish warriors. His father, Astronomix, had been fighting the Romans since he was young. When Asterix was just a toddler, his father always said that his son would grow up to be a brave and big warrior just like him. Astronomix forgot that he—and his wife, Praline—were petite in size. His wish came true, though, and Asterix did inherit his physique and visag
