FOUR male dancers were moving with agility like birds flapping their wings with their hands holding their mandau, the sacred knife unique to the Dayak people in Kalimantan. At the center of the stage, they were swinging their bodies right and left, maneuvering with their weapons. In the same place, four female dancers, carried away in the rhythm, were moving about their talawang (shields). Their hands and feet were moving rhythmically.
