Dance of the Luthans

Two choreographers recently took to the stage in Jakarta. Different in terms of setting and story, both productions are derived from the country’s wealth of traditional dance.

In mid-February, Deddy Luthan and his wife Elly performed at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta. Deddy introduced his Perahu yang Robek (A Torn Boat) in the first half of the evening, while Elly performed Gendari in the second.
