Of Fat Hogs and the Constitutional Court
Djoko Pekik celebrated 60 years of artistry by creating a statue of himself being carried like a wild hog. There is also a painting depicting a possessed judge.

At sundown on Monday two weeks ago, a dozen men could be seen busy moving a huge sculpture in the courtyard of Hall A at the National Gallery in Jakarta. Two statues in the work, depicted as being bare-chested with their pants rolled up to the knees, resembled the bearded artist, Djoko Pekik. The two Pekiks were shown carrying a very fat wild boar on a bamboo spit.
