The 10th annual Bali International Film Festival, or better known as the Balinale, opened on September 24, featuring 105 films from 31 countries, including 30 local entries. The screenings took place at the Lippo Mall, Kuta, both outdoors and in the Cinemaxx theaters. The opening film, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, directed by Taika Waititi, was preceded by Endri Pelita's Negeri Van Oranje, a rom-com set in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
