The Old Town Through the Lens of Boon
Jakarta's Kota Tua (old town) not only tells the story of colonial buildings and their restoration, but also the 'hidden' dwellers who earn their living there.

IT was 7:30 the morning on a Friday. Music blared from Taman Fatahillah (Fatahillah Park) in Jakarta's Kota Tua. Around 60 people gathered there, performing aerobics to quick rhythmic music. Dian, the aerobics instructor, directed the workout from the steps of the Jakarta History Museum. That morning, Dian became Isabelle Boon's object of photography.
