The feet of the baby come out of the embrace of a man. The other parts of the body are not visible, tightly wrapped as they are in a shroud of unbleached cotton. In this painting, it looks as if the body of the baby were cut into two. Is this the portrait of China with its "Just One Child" campaign, a family planning program requiring abortion of the second child?
