Hasta Mitra just celebrated its 30th anniversary. The publishing house established by three former political prisoners has done the public a great service by publishing books of quality that include several literary works written during the era of the New Order. Despite some internal conflicts, and being out of funds financially, its founders were firmly committed to publishing banned books till the end of their lives.
