Islamic movements seeking to revive the supremacy of Islam through the application of the Islamic legal code are seen by the western world, particularly the United States, as terrorist movements. Such movements include Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) led by Ustad Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, which supposedly operates in Southeast Asia. At the regional level there is the Malays
