Only a handful of Indonesians attended the United Nations Conference on the environment in Stockholm in 1972. They were a group of university figures concerned with environmental problems facing Indonesia, pioneered by the Padjadjaran University in Bandung. Environmental matters were literally just an academic problem at the time as th
