BOTH Indonesia and the Philippines are now gripped with election fever to select candidates for the legislature, the presidency and vice presidency. The socio-political and economic condition in both countries shares many common traits—huge foreign debt, rampant poverty, high unemployment, money politics, corruption, collusion and nepotism.
