Indonesia’s public may be furious about the fitful progress of corruption cases against former president Suharto and his playboy son, Tommy. But their lawyers have little to complain about as now they’re gaining celebrity status themselves.

It does not matter how angry the public gets about corruption cases against former officials and leaders of Suharto’s New Order regime or the financial crisis that brought him down. The law
