On Wings and Prayers
Many religious denominations need their own churches, leading them to establish unauthorized places of worship. This is the dilemma of the Christian Protestant community in Indonesia.

THE church is wedged in a row of narrow, three-story shops along a road in Velbak, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta. From the outside, it appears to be the same as the other ruko shops, which have living or office facilities on the upper floors. The door is a sliding steel door. The paint is faded. There is no sign or cross to indicate that this is a church.
