ONE day, in early 1999, George Junus Aditjondro, who at the time lived in Callaghan, New South Wales in Australia, had an unexpected visitor. He was a special guest, who had flown from Jakarta to meet him, to ask for information about the assets of former Indonesian President Suharto. At that time, Aditjondro, a sociology lecturer at Newcastle University was researching the oligarchies erected by Suharto and former Philippines President Ferdinand
