Holding on to an old grudge, the Suharto family refused visits from B.J. Habibie and Harmoko, two figures they felt betrayed Suharto during his final days in power.

THE idea for the visit came in a dream. As it happened, far off in Germany, former Vice President B.J. Habibie dreamt of meeting Suharto. Although the details of the dream were unclear, for some reason Habibie felt a need to meet with his former political guru. He hastily departed for Indonesia, taking a long flight on Lufthansa airlines. However, things did not go as expected in Jakarta.
