Ready to Become a Growth Center
Makassar is ready to become the entry point to eastern Indonesia and its economy is growing rapidly. There are, however, still some regions lagging behind.

MERPATI Nusantara Airlines has moved location. As of September 1 this year, this state-owned airline officially moved its headquarters from Jakarta and Surabaya to Makassar, South Sulawesi. The airline now occupies the old terminal building at the provincial capital’s Hasanuddin Airport. While the building is being refurbished, members of the board of directors are based in an office on Makassar’s Jalan Swadaya.
