SEPARATED by thousands of kilometers of ocean, the two officials from the Finance Department were still in touch with the critical situation in Jakarta. The department’s Secretary-General Mulya Nasution was in Peru while Director-General of Taxes Darmin Nasution was in Guangzhou, China, on Wednesday two weeks ago. They both took part in a long teleconference with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and department echelon I officials in Indonesia.
