THE Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) suffered a defeat in the 2004 General Elections. This party with the logo of a white-nosed bull immediately reacted to the loss. In less than a year, the party began to split. Even members close to the Megawati circle quit. They initiated a reform movement, with Laksamana Sukardi and Roy B.B. Janis as leading the pack. Their stated aim was to reverse the setback.
