THE green-painted house on a 2,000-square-meter site on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Yogyakarta, looks deserted. Isolated from the local people’s dwellings, this official residence of the Pamungkas Military Area commander has only a mango tree as its decoration. In this house with a large courtyard surrounded by office buildings, campus, school and sports stadium lived Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in 1995.
