OVER a dozen retired officers frequently gather in Block E of the Army Complex in Jatinegara, East Jakarta. They belong to the class of 1968 at the National Military Academy. The group calls this community Andalan, an acronym for Anugerah Tidar Enam Delapan (Tidar’s Gift in Sixty-Eight).
