THERE is nothing more extraordinary than a large Hindu temple (pura) in the village of Banuroja, Randangan subdistrict, Pohuwato regency, Gorontalo province. This large temple is surrounded by smaller family temples. The atmosphere of a Hindu village is very strong until we come across a school building with prominent lettering on its wall: “Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Safi’iyah”.
