Tobacco and clove farmers have filed for a material review of the tobacco clause to the Constitutional Court. They are also asking for a stipulation that the warning labels on the dangers of smoking be removed from cigarette packs.

A FLATBED truck carrying a loudspeaker moved slowly out of the office of the East Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), heading for the Governor’s office. About a thousand tobacco and clove farmers, from the Alliance of Indonesian Tobacco Farmers, walked behind it. They were going to meet the Governor of East Java, Soekarwo.
