Blind Faith
Funds deposited by haj pilgrims to pay for their flight and expenses during their holy journey were misused. Amounting to almost Rp2 trillion, the funds were loaned out as business collateral. Some people are making money off these funds but they are not the pilgrims.

Ahmad Medi, 79, wants to reach Islam's Holy Land in Mecca as soon as possible. He is growing more religious in his old age. He wants to perform the haj pilgrimage to Mecca, the fifth pillar of Islamic worship. Some of his neighbors already call him Pak Haji, even though this retired elementary school teacher from Kampak, East Java, will only be able to make the trip next year.
