Cornell's Eyes
With influential experts such as George McTurnan Kahin and Benedict Anderson, Cornell University was once the point of reference for Indonesian studies. However research activities on Indonesia have for quite some time reached a stagnant point, failing to draw in enough interest from students on learning about Indonesia. Today, however, it is working to reclaim its former position as the preeminent center for Southeast Asian studies. A crop of young researchers have also emerged and are spread across a string of Indonesian university campuses. These researchers are actively observing and recording Indonesia's social and political changes today, post-Suharto's New Order period.
