Miles to Go on the Green Road
Despite encouraging reports of progress in the management of forests, climate change and other related issues, the sad reality is that crimes against our environment keep on being carried out, particularly in areas not accessible by public oversight and monitoring. In the most extreme cases, they have led to conflicts that have resulted in fatal consequences. Corruption and collusion are clearly behind the slow progress in efforts to address vital environmental issues. But it is encouraging to note that we continue to take part in international fora, in the struggle to save our fragile planet.
