One heritage of Dutch colonial times in Senen, Central Jakarta, is still in good shape. Resembling a fort, this building which today is the national awakening museum has not changed much. It was last renovated in April 1973, when the roofing over some its rooms collapsed.

Not many know that for 30 years, this building which stands on 1.5 hectares of land was once used for residential purposes. At that time, about 400 or so Ambonese residents lived
