From Teacher to Five-Star General
Sudirman came from humble beginnings. Later Si Kajias he was called during his youth for his mastery of Islamic issuesbecame a key figure at the start of Indonesia's nation-building. From an activist in the Hizbul Wathan Scout movement and teacher of a Muhamadiyah school, Sudirman became a five-star general and supreme commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces.

Becoming a Combatant
