COMR. Gen. Sutarman did not seem to have had a difficult time in replacing Gen. Timur Pradopo as the top man of the National Police Force. The Law Commission of the House of Representatives (DPR) unanimously approved Sutarman, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's sole candidate, as the nation's police chief.

The decision was reached last week after legislators grilled for 12 hours Sutarman, who previously held the job of chief of the crime division.
