One Day in Entikong

A WHITE minivan with Malaysian license plates stopped near the gate of the border crossing post at Entikong in West Kalimantan, having just come from the border post in Tebedu, Malaysia. From the vehicle's open back hatch, green natural gas tanks bearing the Petronas label, and a stack of cardboard boxes containing garlic, onions and soft drinks, could be seen.

Amirullah and Anton Siregar quickly approached the vehicle, pushing a dolly. Last week, they spiritedly unloaded the cargo onto the dolly, then covered it with a black cloth. Then they pushed the dolly along a concrete block road until they reached the exit gate of the Entikong border post. The distance from the gate to the car was about 300 meters.
