THE meeting on the fifth floor of Graha Merah Putih, the office of Telekomunikasi Indonesia in Jakarta, on the first Wednesday in August was attended by all of the company's commissioners. Only one item was on the agenda: approving a corporate action plan on the swap of the shares belonging to Dayamitra Telecommunications (Mitratel), a tower company jointly owned by Telkom and Tower Bersama Infrastructure (TBIG).

According to plan, an approval letter from the board of commissioners would be sent to State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan following the meeting. An official who was privy to the meeting said that the letter was finalized and signed by Telkom commissioners Jusman Syafii Djamal and Imam Apriyanto Putro. "The approval of the other commissioners will then be requested," he said.
