President Abdurrahman Wahid and Rachmawati Sukarnoputri are old friends. They knew one another long before he became president. They were both there in the East Java town of Blitar in June 1992. There they marked the 22nd anniversary of founding President Sukarno's death, Rachmawati's father and also that of her big sister, Vice President Megawati Sukarnoputri.
